Winter 2012
Have you visited Pennypickle's
Workshop lately? It's very busy at the
Professor's house and you won't want to miss a thing! Be sure
to reserve your tickets early so that you
won't be left out. Adults are required to
accompany their children at all events with
the exception of the Kids Only Club
adventures (YOU get to have fun,
too, Mom and Dad!)
Thinking
in Three Dimensions
Friday,
January 20, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
How would you like to turn something
two-dimensional into a three-dimensional
object? Magic?? Nope! You'll find out how to
do it tonight.
Kids should be able to handle paper folding
and following directions, but if they are
too little, mom and dad can certainly help.

Have a
Heart

Friday,
February 3, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Pennypickle and Beaker love hearts, so
tonight you get to enjoy figuring out what
makes them tick... uhh... beat. Anyway,
it'll be fun!
Tickets for Have a Heart are $5 per person
and may be purchased at the door.
|
Do you know these
facts about your heart? |
|
If you're a kid,
your heart is about the same size as
your fist.
If you're an adult, it's about the
same size as two fists. |
Your heart beats
about 100,000 times in one day
and about 35 million times in a year. During an average lifetime,
the human heart will beat more than
2.5 billion times. |
The heart is
located almost in the center of the
chest,
between the lungs. It's tipped slightly so that a part of it
sticks out and taps against the left
side of the chest.
(That's what makes it seem as though
it's on your left side!) |

Kids Only
Club: Sweet Tooth Science
Friday,
February 10, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Kids
love candy but they have no idea how science
plays a part in its creation or its
existence! Experiment with the tastiest
ingredients any scientist would love -
mentos, life savers, jelly beans, and more.
Event is for kids only (no parents - you can
go have a nice romantic dinner somewhere)
and includes dinner so there will be no
sugar-induced melt-downs!
Space will be limited to the first 60
children who have pre-registered.
Please make your reservations early, as
no tickets will be sold at the door.
Children must be between the ages of 5-10
years old. Adults will not be allowed to
stay - this is a lock-in event for
pre-registered children only. Check-in time
will begin at 5:15 p.m.
Please download, fill out, and email this
waiver form to us when you register your
children (print one for each child)! It will speed up
our check-in process and we need to be aware
if your child is allergic to anything! Email
to:
phineas@pennypickles.org
Download the waiver form here.
