The Friends would like to enlist immediate aid from marketing and graphic design specialists to help create a unified look for promotional materials in order to solicit grants and funding from organizations such as the National Science Foundation.

It is also the hope of the Friends to find volunteer experts who have carpentry, display, and exhibit skills to help with many of our "Pennypicklizing" projects.

We have a great need for science and instructional professionals who can teach Science Club workshops and write articles for Pennypickle’s newsletters.

The Friends would like to encourage those who have a love for children and science and would like to offer their services to contact them at  phineas@pennypickles.org.

Please consider making a tax-deductible gift to the Friends of the Temecula Children's Museum today. Your generosity will make a real difference.

Back to About Us

The Friends of the Temecula Children’s Museum help to create an immersive and memorable experience for visitors through the character of Professor Pennypickle, while providing a way for children to become interested in science through play.

As science programs in the traditional school setting are becoming overshadowed by heavy emphasis on math and reading, it is increasingly important to provide innovative resources so that children are exposed to science basics. Through hands-on experiments and discovery, plus the elusive and intriguing persona of Professor Pennypickle and his Imagination Workshop, the Friends of the Temecula Children’s Museum hope to inspire children to become more interested in science while they are having lots of fun.

SOME examples of what the Friends do...
operate and manage Pennypickles, the gift shop at the Imagination Workshop (proceeds of items sold help support programming at the museum); fundraising; organize birthday parties, science clubs, science fairs, etc.

This is important!!
The Friends are looking for financial and in-kind sponsorships for a new project – “Pennypickle’s Traveling Science Show” – which will transform a used bus (donated by the Riverside Transit Agency) into a traveling exhibit that will expose children who are not able to visit (such as in other school districts, children’s hospitals, etc.) to the look and feel of the wacky Imagination Workshop, plus deliver a mini science club experience provided by one of the Professor’s assistants. The Friends is hoping to entice a “Monster Garage” type group to “Pennypicklize” the bus inside and out.
